Unlocking Quantum Horizons

Join the free symposium on Quantum Computing in Life Sciences

27 March 2024

Europe is building a quantum ecosystem to leverage the potential of quantum technologies. It is expected that this technology will allow us to do things that are simply not possible today. The European Commission now has concrete plans to build state-of-the-art pilot quantum computers, based on a whole generation of emerging technologies. Similar to high-performance computing, this will be the first step in the deployment of quantum computing infrastructure across Europe, on a non-commercial basis.

During the free Applications of Quantum Computing in Life Sciences symposium in Leuven, jointly organized by VSC and VIB, we will delve into the concepts and cutting-edge advancements in quantum computing alongside highlighting current applications within the Life Sciences domain.

The program will include an introduction to the field, use cases, and a panel discussion. Eric Michiels (IBM, BE) confirmed to present ‘Quantum Computing and its Use Cases: State of the Play’. Bryan Raubenolt (the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute) will introduce the first use case on Protein Structure Prediction.
