Call for contributions - RSE26

Research software is at the core of modern science, enabling everything from data processing and large-scale computation to emerging AI-driven workflows. As research grows more complex, sustainable software practices, reproducibility, and scalable solutions are becoming increasingly important.

The Belgian Research Software Engineering Day brings together researchers, developers, and research software engineers to share practical experiences, tools, and ideas. We welcome contributions on topics including:

  • Software engineering practices in research
  • FAIR and reproducible software
  • Open-weight LLMs, tinyML, and edgeML
  • Computational challenges in science
  • Research software and HPC
  • Successes and failures of LLM applications

Participants are invited to submit a short abstract and motivation (maximum 1 page) and select one of the following contribution formats:

  • Poster
  • Demo
  • Short presentation (8 minutes)
  • Full presentation (30 minutes)

We encourage contributions from everyone involved in developing research software, supporting research infrastructure, or improving reproducible and sustainable research practices.
