Add to calendar

Given the rapid advancements in AI, driven by increased data availability, computing power, and new methodologies, this summer school is more relevant than ever. The development of foundation models and the accessibility of vast omics data have highlighted the need for sophisticated analysis techniques beyond classical statistics.

Recognizing the importance of equipping researchers with the necessary knowledge and skills to leverage these technologies, our week-long summer school will cover foundational concepts, deep learning, and generative AI techniques.

After this summer school, you'll be able to:

  • Understand the core principles of machine learning and deep learning in the context of life sciences.
  • Apply generative AI approaches and other advanced methods to real-world biological data.
  • Develop solutions through a hackathon-style format, gaining hands-on experience with practical workflows and tools.
  • Interpret and evaluate AI model outputs for omics and biomedical datasets.

The summer school follows a hackathon format, where experts will guide around 4 diverse groups of 8-10 participants. You will have around 20 contact hours dedicated to hands-on training and collaborative problem-solving. In addition to group work, we have planned inspiring lectures on the latest advancements in Machine learning and AI in life sciences.
