Mark your calendars for Neurotechnologies 2022!

13 April 2022

VIB is organizing Neurotechnologies, in partnership with NERF and Cell Press. The conference will focus on neurotechnologies for research and neuroprosthetic applications, covering advances in molecular, optical and electrophysiological approaches for measuring and manipulating neural circuits.

Keynotes Gregoire Courtine (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), CH) and Jocelyne Bloch (Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), CH) will open the conference on the evening of 27 September in Leuven. They have founded NeuroRestore, a research, innovation and treatment center that develops and applies bioengineering strategies involving neurosurgical interventions to restore neurological functions.

Wednesday and Thursday 28-29 September will be packed with outstanding talks of excellent leaders in the field.

The current speaker line-up is as follows:

  • Jocelyne Bloch - Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), CH
  • Kobi Koffler - University of California San Diego, US
  • Sergiu Pasca - Psychiatry, Stanford University, US
  • Nadine Gogolla - Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology, University of Marburg, DE
  • Cynthia Chestek - Michigan Institute for Computational Discovery & Engineering, University of Michigan, US
  • Gregoire Courtine - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), CH
  • Adam Cohen - Harvard University, US
  • Maysam Chamanzar - Carnegie Mellon University, US
  • Edward Chang - University of California, US
  • Nita Farahany - Duke University School of Law, US
  • Jose Antonio Garrido - Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, ES
  • Na Ji - University of California, Berkeley, US
  • Ellis Meng - USC Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience, University of Southern California, US
  • Alexandre Mourot - INSERM Research Director, ESPCI, FR
  • Michael Roukes - California Institute of Technology, US
  • Jerzy Szablowski - Rice University, US
  • Alipasha Vaziri - Rockefeller University, US
  • Malin Parmar - Developmental and Regenerative Neurobiology, Lund University, SE

To offer junior researchers the opportunity to present their work not only during the poster sessions, the program has 8 slots for selected talks.

Next to the scientific talks, there's the chance to network during the breaks, the poster sessions and the conference dinner. On the evening of 27 September after the keynote talks, we are even organizing a reception at the prestigious Leuven City Hall. This reception is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.

You can find all the details and the full program on the Neurotechnologies eventpage.

Will we see you there?
