Alessandra Panzeri completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Milan, Italy. She then joined the laboratory of Prof. Camilla Bellone in the Department of Basic Neurosciences at the University of Geneva, where she is currently pursuing her PhD. Her research investigates how the brain integrates internal bodily signals with external social information, and how this process is altered in autism spectrum disorder. Using mouse models and a combination of behavioral, physiological, and imaging approaches, she studies the role of the posterior insular cortex in social behavior and interoception.
