Biography
Ashley Lu is currently a PhD candidate at the Bart De Strooper laboratory in VIB-KU Leuven for research of neurodegenerative diseases. Ashley’s research focus on the understanding of molecular and cellular reaction in the brain during the Alzheimer’s disease (AD) progression. During her PhD, Ashley has been studying the transcriptional changes of both mRNA and miRNA changes of the hippocampus using AD mouse models. Recently she has also integrated the Spatial Transcriptomics and in situ sequencing to characterize cellular response during AD progression and how this related to the amyloid deposition in the brain.
