Biography
Nam D. Nguyen is a postdoctoral researcher at the VIB Center for Molecular Neurobiology, working with Professor Valeriya Malysheva. Previously, he served as a Lane Fellow in the Computational Biology Department at Carnegie Mellon University, where he focused on Optimal Transport, spatial transcriptomics, and cell-cell interactions. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, where his doctoral research centered on multiview learning for integrating and understanding functional multiomics. His research interests lie in machine learning on graphs and manifolds, particularly in their applications for elucidating molecular mechanisms and enhancing genotype-phenotype predictions in complex biological systems.
