Elena Stylianou

Elena Stylianou is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the development of subunit vaccines against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, particularly the identification of promising mycobacterial antigens for inclusion in multicomponent vaccine strategies.

Her work explores how different antigen combinations and delivery platforms can be used to optimise vaccine-induced immune responses, including the application of mRNA-technology. She has extensive experience with pre-clinical models of tuberculosis and immunological assessment of vaccine efficacy.

A key interest of her research is mucosal vaccination and the induction of local and systemic immune responses relevant to protection against respiratory pathogens.
