Fekrije Selimi
Fekrije Selimi is a team leader at the CIRB-Collège de France since January 2011 and a CNRS Research Director. Her research interests lie in understanding the development of a functional brain and its malfunction in brain diseases, focusing on the molecular mechanisms underlying synapse diversification during development, in particular in the cerebellum. She obtained her PhD in 2000 from the University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris) and trained as a HFSP post-doctoral fellow at the Rockefeller University (New York) in the laboratory of Pr. Nathaniel Heintz. She is the recipient of the 2010 Boehringer Ingelheim FENS award, the current president of the France Cerebellum Club and an ambassador for the ALBA network for equity and diversity in brain sciences and for the program La Science Taille XX elles (CNRS and association Femmes &Sciences).
