Gabrielle Pouchelon

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), US
Biography

Gabrielle Pouchelon is a developmental neurobiologist and Assistant Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL). She received her Ph.D. from the University of Geneva in Denis Jabaudon’s laboratory and completed postdoctoral training in Gord Fishell’s laboratory at New York University, Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.
Her research focuses on how activity-dependent signals and molecular programs interact to shape synaptic and circuit assembly during early brain development, and how deviations from these processes contribute to neurodevelopmental disorders, including Fragile X syndrome. Using multidisciplinary, integrated approaches spanning neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and molecular methods, her laboratory investigates developmental mechanisms with lasting functional consequences. Her work has been recognized by major funding organizations, including the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative and the Brain Research Foundation.
