Biography
Itay Mayrose is an Associate Professor in the School of Plant Sciences and Food Security, and is a member of the Safra Center for Bioinformatics at Tel Aviv University. Research at his lab is focused on the development of computational phylogenetics methodologies, with specific applications for the study of plant evolution and genome doubling, as well as the development of methods for the inference of the relationship between organismal traits and patterns of genome evolution. Professor Mayrose gained his PhD (2008) from Tel Aviv University and performed his post-doctoral studies at the Beaty Biodiversity Centre, The University of British Columbia.
