Dr. Jürgen Müller, Senior Director R&D, Research Platform Solutions, is leading R&D for PerkinElmer’s imaging and detection product lines for life science research, which comprise High Content Screening, In Vivo Imaging, and Multimode Detection.
Jürgen holds a PhD in Physics, with a focus on optical systems design and signal processing. He started his career in the life science industry as a research scientist and team leader with Evotec, working on optical single-molecule detection for directed evolution and high-throughput screening. At spin-out Evotec Technologies, he was responsible for the Core Technologies group, including software and signal processing development, during the development of the original Opera high content screening reader.
Jürgen joined PerkinElmer in 2007 via the acquisition of Evotec Technologies. Leading the R&D team for High-Content Imaging and Multimode Detection in Hamburg, Germany, he drove development of the Operetta, Opera Phenix and Operetta CLS high content readers, as well as the EnSight multimode reader. Recently he took over an expanded responsibility for In Vivo Imaging R&D at PerkinElmer’s life science research center in the Boston/Massachusetts area.
