Lucie Crépin
Lucie Crépin has extensive expertise in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology. She holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Montpellier focusing on nitrogen metabolism in Saccharomyces cerevisiae during wine fermentation. Her research laid a strong foundation for a career at the intersection of science and innovation.
Following the completion of their doctoral studies, Lucie Crépin pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Toulouse Institute of Technology (TBI). During this period, she specialized in the metabolic engineering of Cupriavidus necator, a bacterial species with significant potential for capture of CO2 and sustainable biochemical production.
For the past eight years, Lucie Crépin has served as the Head of Biology at PILI, a pioneering company in the field of bio-based dye and pigment production. In this role, she leads a team of scientists dedicated to developing sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional chemical processes.
Lucie Crépin has a robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents. Her work contributes to the development of innovative solutions that address some of the most pressing challenges in the industry.
