Nathalie Gonzalez

INRAE Bordeaux, FR
Biography

Nathalie Gonzalez obtained her PhD in 2006 at INRAE Bordeaux under the supervision of A. Mouras. Her PhD work consisted in studying the role of the kinase WEE1 in the regulation of cell cycle and endoreduplication during tomato fruit development. After her PhD using tomato as a model plant, she worked for ten years in the group of Pr. Dirk Inzé (PSB-VIB, Gent Belgium) first as a post-doctoral fellow and then as a project leader. Her research activities focused on the identification and functional characterization of genes involved in leaf growth control in Arabidopsis. Since her recruitment at INRAE in 2016, she studies the regulation of tomato fruit growth with a focus on the transcriptional regulation of endoreduplication, in the UMR1332 “Fruit Biology and pathology” in Bordeaux. Since 2019, she is group leader of the “Fruit development, flowering and environmental constraints” team. N Gonzalez is experienced in plant functional genomics, molecular biology and biotechnology. She has authored 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals or book chapters, of which 50 were dedicated to the molecular pathways regulating leaf growth in Arabidopsis and 10 to tomato fruit development.
