Norico Yamada

Since her Msc and subsequent PhD research in the lab of Prof. Takeo Horiguchi, Hokkaido University (Japan), Dr Norico Yamada has been fascinated by how a microalga evolves into a plastid. Following a postdoctoral position and principal investigator fellowship with Peter Kroth, University of Konstanz (Germany), she recently became principal investigator (CNRS) in the ECOMAP team, Station Biologique de Roscoff, France. Using a combination of molecular biological, physiological, biochemical and bioinformatic tools, Norico studies the molecular mechanisms underlying early stages of plastidogenesis.
