Biography
Olga Pettersson holds a BSc and MSc in mycology from the University of Latvia and earned her PhD at SLU and Uppsala University, studying plant-associated fungi. Fascinated by genomics, she transitioned into bioinformatics, contributing to early genome assembly methods and advancing NGS technology at SciLifeLab. As a co-founder of ERGA and Work Package leader in Biodiversity Genomics Europe, she promotes genomic research for non-model species, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and infrastructure development. Currently, she serves as Scientific Lead for SciLifeLab’s Planetary Biology Capability and Vice-Chair of ERGA, championing open science and European biodiversity efforts.
