Biography
Pascal Schneider obtained a PhD in 1992, performed a post-doc at the University of Dundee, Scotland, then joined the Department of Immunobiology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, where he was appointed senior lecturer and researcher in 2006. His research interests lie in the TNF family of ligands and receptors, with emphasis on BAFF, APRIL and EDA. This research contributes knowledge to ligand – receptor binding specificities, requirements to have active ligands, heteromers, the nature of endogenous ligands and the impact of naturally occurring mutations. One aim of modulating ligand - receptor pairs and their biology is to make this knowledge clinically relevant.
