Biography
Patricia Darrah is Head of the Tuberculosis Unit (TBU) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Vaccine Research Center (VRC). Tricia began her post-doctoral work in 2002 as a Research Fellow with Dr. Robert Seder in the Cellular Immunology Section, where she began studying the role of multifunctional CD4 T cells in vaccine-mediate protection. She transitioned to Staff Scientist in 2009 and became Head of the VRC TBU in 2016. Her group investigates how vaccine route and dose influence T cell quality, lung-resident immunity, and protection against TB in a pre-clinical animal model, and on defining correlates of protection that will facilitate clinical translation of novel TB vaccines.
