Line of Research

The laboratory has a longstanding interest in unraveling the processes that drive the differentiation of human virus-specific (CD8+) T-cells. Initially our studies have been centered on T-cells that can be obtained from peripheral blood. In collaboration with the transplant immunology group at AMC, longitudinal analyses including characterization of phenotype, function and transcriptome have been performed. More, recently we included in our studies the analyses of virus-reactive T cells residing in tissue (Trm).
