Biography

Silvie Van den Hoecke is Project Manager at VIB Technologies, where she closely collaborates with VIB’s core facilities on cross-core pipelines and technology-driven projects, with a particular focus on fostering collaboration, technology onboarding, communication, and the integration of innovative research support workflows.

Driven by a strong interest in emerging technologies and scientific innovation, Silvie joined the VIB Technologies Tech Watch team in 2017 , focusing on scouting and implementing novel technologies to strengthen research across VIB.

Silvie obtained her Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Ghent University, after which she pursued a PhD in the Molecular Virology group of Prof. Xavier Saelens, during which her interest in working at the edge of science and technology was sparked.
