Tabrez J. Siddiqui
Dr Tabrez J. Siddiqui is a Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology at the University of Manitoba, and a Principal Investigator at the PrairieNeuro Research Centre, Kleysen Institute for Advanced Medicine, and the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. He leads a multidisciplinary research program that investigates the molecular logic of brain synapse organization and plasticity, with a focus on trans synaptic adhesion systems and nanoscale receptor architecture. His laboratory integrates molecular and cellular biology, advanced imaging, electrophysiology, proteomics, and behavioural approaches to connect molecular mechanisms with circuit level function and development. Dr Siddiqui’s work aims to advance understanding of how disruptions in synaptic structure and signalling contribute to neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders such as autism and schizophrenia. He is also deeply committed to neuroscience leadership, mentorship, and community building within Manitoba, across Canada, and beyond.
