Biography

Dr. Tae-Wuk Kim is a professor of the Department of Life Science, Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. He got a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology under supervision of Dr. Seong-Ki Kim at Chung-Ang University, South Korea and he conducted post-doctoral research in Dr. Zhiyong Wang's lab at the Carnegie Institution for Science in the United States. In his doctoral and postdoctoral studies, he made significant contributions to elucidate the biosynthetic pathway and signal transduction pathway of brassinosteroids. Since establishing his own lab in 2011, his research has been firmly centered around comprehending the diverse physiological and developmental roles of brassinosteroids, along with unraveling the underlying regulatory mechanisms associated with them. Recently, his research interests have expanded to include the exploration of protein interactomes using TurboID-based proximity labeling. This innovative approach has captured his attention as he aims to gain a deeper understanding of the intricate cell signaling networks and their implications in various biological processes.
