Biography
Thomas Kiørboe received his PhD in 1983 from the University of Copenhagen. His research has focused on the biophysics and functional ecology of plankton and on the structure and function of marine pelagic ecosystems. He is a professor of ocean ecology and leader of the Centre for Ocean Life at the Technical University of Denmark, a cross disciplinary center that develops mechanistically underpinned models of global pelagic ecosystem.
