Tim Halim

Cambridge University, UK
Biography

Dr Tim Halim received his PhD from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) in 2013, and continued his postdoctoral studies at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (Cambridge, UK). During his training as an immunologist, Dr Halim uncovered a role of newly discovered group 2 innate lymphoid cells in allergic airway inflammation and further identified mechanisms by which these cells interact with CD4 T cells of the adaptive immune system. Dr Halim joined the faculty at the CRUK Cambridge Institute (Cambridge, UK) with additional support of a Wellcome Trust Sir Henry Dale Fellowship in 2017 with the aim of investigating the immune-regulatory role of ILC2 in cancer, and tissue and immune homeostasis. His laboratory has made contributions towards understanding the role of ILC2 in regulating innate and adaptive immune responses in cancer and inflammatory diseases.
