Biography

Tomohiko Tamura obtained MD (1990) and PhD (1995) at Yokohama City University. As a clinician, he specialized in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. As a basic scientist, he has been studying the role of transcription factors in myeloid cell development and function at NICHD, NIH (Post-doc and Staff Scientist, 1998-2006), the University of Tokyo (Associate Professor, 2007-2009), and Yokohama City University (Professor of Immunology, 2009-present; Head of Bioinformatics Laboratory, Advanced Medical Research Center, 2012-present; Head of Epigenome Research Center, Advanced Medical Research Center, 2018-present). He also served as Dean of Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine (2018-2023). He loves listening to classical and jazz music using sophisticated audio systems.
