How to enter the virtual conference platform: Hopin
Hopin is a virtual venue with multiple interactive areas that are optimized for connecting and engaging. Attendees can move in and out of rooms just like an in-person event and enjoy the content and connections that's been set-up.
Please follow the next steps to get into the platform:
- Use Google Chrome. Hopin is, unfortunately, not well supported by other browsers. Using another browser will result in not hearing or seeing everything. So using Google Chrome is an absolute must.
- Accept registration: You will receive an email from Hopin asking you to accept your registration. Please click on "Login & join event" anytime before the event starts. (Also check your Spam).
- Profile picture: Have a recent profile picture in place to complete your profile after you have accepted your registration.
- Enter the event: Enter the event via the link in your Hopin reminder email or via the link in your calendar invite as from 11:00 CET on Thursday 29 April.
How to optimize your virtual conference experience?
- Please use Google Chrome for streaming the seminar (Internet explorer and Safari don't present all features Hopin available) and close all other internet browser tabs.
- For the best streaming experience, it is better to use an internet cable instead of Wifi.
- If you have acces to a plug-in headset, use this one instead of a bluetooth headset. A bluetooth headset can result in malfunctions.
- When you want to mute yourself, please click on the mute button in Hopin and not the mute button on your computer. Hopin overides your sound settings of your headset.
For questions regarding the platform before entering, please email conferences@vib.be.
Mac user?
Don't forget to give Google Chrome access to screen recording in your Mac settings and Hopin permission for sharing audio, video in the settings of Google Chrome before you enter the platform. You need to use Google Chrome as the standard browser. (Click here for an example)
