GCC2021-Logo

GCC2021 will be globally accessible, in any time zone, on every continent, and in every country.

GCC brings together hundreds of faculty, clinicians, researchers, and students, all working in and supporting data intensive science that is accessible, sharable and reproducible.

GCC2021 features

  • Training for researchers, developers and administrators
  • Oral presentations, lightning talks
  • Poster and demo sessions
  • Collaborative work days
  • Ample opportunity for networking

Presentations will cover the full spectrum of Galaxy applications, enhancements and deployments. If you are working in data intensive science (life sciences and beyond) then GCC2021 is an ideal conference for sharing your work, learning from others, and finding new collaborators.

About Galaxy

Galaxy is a platform for data integration and analysis in data intensive research. It enables researchers to build, run, share, and repeat their own complex computational analyses using only a web browser and without having to first learn system administration and command line interfaces.

The Galaxy Project is driven by a vibrant community who publish workflows and analyses, wrap new tools, maintain and enhance the source code, provide support, and write documentation and training materials. Galaxy is open-source and freely available, and is deployed in hundreds of organizations, running on everything from laptops through supercomputers and public and private clouds. Galaxy was developed to support life science research, but the software is domain agnostic and is now used in domains as diverse as natural language processing, and social science.

Program

Training
Monday, 28 June - Friday, 02 July
This will be an online event, spanning all time zones. All training sessions are pre-recorded, so you can work through them at your own pace, and manage your own time. A large community of trainers from the Galaxy Training Network (GTN) will be available 24/7 for online support to answer all your questions on Slack (a chat platform). The training week features 3 Training Tracks, aimed at scientists, developers and system administrators. Details on the Science, Developer and Admin Tracks can be found on the GCC2021 Training Week page.

Conference
Tuesday, 06 July - Thursday, 08 July

Conference events will be held twice, once in their original Ghent time zone (GCC EMEA + APAC), and again 8 hours later in the Americas (GCC Americas).

These three days will include talks with live Q&A, posters, demos, birds-of-a-feather and social gatherings. Oral presentations will be pre-recorded and presented in both zones.

The complete program is on the GCC2021 Conference Schedule page. Presenters

CollaborationFest
Friday, 09 July - Saturday 10 July

A multi-day CoFest will follow the meeting and also span the globe. This is an opportunity to get involved and to improve the Galaxy ecosystem.
