On June 22nd the first edition of TRIC (Translational Research in Crops) kicks off. During this 2 day event, scientists from around the world meet in Ghent to discuss the challenges of producing food in a rapidly changing environment. With the help of groundbreaking research and cutting-edge technologies, researchers try to figure out how plants cope with biotic and abiotic stress, how plant architecture can be improved, how microbes in the soil can be beneficial, and how to grow healthier crops in general.
