Biography
Dr. Hreinn Stefánsson, PhD, has been employed by deCODE genetics since 1996 and headed the companies CNS division since 2000. Dr. Stefánsson received his PhD in biochemistry from Lund University, Sweden and a BSc in biology from University of Iceland. Dr. Stefansson has published numerous articles on the genetics of common/complex diseases and has been among the leaders of the world in the discovery of copy number variants conferring risk of psychiatric disorders.
