Zachary A. Wood

Zachary received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (USA) and then pursued graduate studies in Biochemistry and Biophysics at Cornell University. After earning his PhD, he continued his studies in Structural Biology as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Oregon (USA), and in 2007 accepted a position at the University of Georgia (USA), where he currently serves as an associate professor. Zachary’s research group uses structural and biophysical approaches to study allostery and enzyme mechanisms. Their current interests include enzymes involved in Phase II drug metabolism, as well as the origin of substrate specificity in glycosyltransferases.
