Alexandre Harari

Department of oncology UNIL CHUV Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Lausanne, CH
Biography

Dr Harari started his career working on immune correlates of disease control for various human pathogens such as HIV and M. tuberculosis. These efforts, published in high-impact scientific journals, led to the establishment of several clinically-relevant assays and biomarkers. Dr Harari then joined the Department of Oncology from the Ludwig Lausanne branch as head of the immune monitoring core and then as associate director of the Center of Experimental Therapeutics.

His group was focusing on the development of sensitive and high-throughput methodologies to interrogate T cells and analyze repertoires of T-cell receptors as well as unique functional assays to profile antigen-specific T cells. They have also designed novel culture methods to generate tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte populations that are highly enriched in neoepitope-specific CD8 T cells.

Dr Harari is currently leading the T-cell discovery group within the Hi-TIDE team in the Department of Oncology from the Ludwig Lausanne branch, Switzerland. His current research is focused on the understanding of the antitumoral immune response, both spontaneous and after immunotherapy, and in the establishment of knowledge and methodologies to improve and develop cellular therapies for cancer patients.
