Biography
Jane Langdale is Professor of Plant Development in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Oxford. She has previously been Head of Department of Plant Sciences and Associate Head of the Maths Physical and Life Sciences Division. Jane’s research focusses on understanding the genetic mechanisms that underpin how leaves develop and how they evolved (www.langdalelab.com) and she is currently co-ordinator of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded ‘C4 Rice Project’ (www.c4rice.com). She was elected a Member of the European Molecular Biology Organization in 2007, a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2015 and a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences in 2019.
