Jorge Casal

Jorge J. Casal is Professor of Plant Physiology at the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires and Senior Research Investigator of the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET). He is member of Instituto de Investigaciones Fisiológicas y Ecológicas Vinculadas a la Agricultura (IFEVA) and Head of the Laboratory of Plant Molecular Physiology at Leloir Institute. He is editor of Plant Journal and Plant Molecular Biology and member of the advisory board of Trends in Plant Science. He has obtained the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship (2002) and the Georg Forster Research Award of the Humboldt Foundation (2014). He investigates the molecular network and cellular mechanisms involved in plant growth and developmental responses to their light and temperature environment and the functional implications of these responses.
