Biography

Julie Bonnereau received a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the AgroParisTech engineering school and a PhD in immuno-oncology from the University of Paris Diderot, as part of the team led by Prof Matthieu Allez. As a PhD she studied the anti-tumoral T cell response in a cohort of colorectal cancer patients. She set up an autologous coculture model between tumoral T cells and spheroids allowing her to highlight the therapeutic potential of the ectonucleotidase CD39 to increase the T cell activation. She is currently a post-doc in the Cell Death Research & Therapy lab & Center for Cancer Biology led by Prof Patrizia Agostinis. In collaboration with Apostolos Panagiotis Nikolakopoulos (shared PhD student from Prof Colinda Scheele and Prof Patrizia Agostinis labs), her project is to define the melanoma lymph node metastasis spatio-temporal evolution and to identify the metabolic traits of the invasive melanoma cells, as well as their immunomodulatory effect on the local microenvironment. The utmost goal of this project is to uncover novel therapeutic targets to prevent lymph node metastasis.
