Biography

Maysam Chamanzar, is the William D. and Nancy W. Strecker Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where he is running an interdisciplinary research program at the interface of neural engineering, nanotechnology, photonics and neuroscience to design next generation multimodal neural interfaces. He is also a faculty member of the Biomedical Engineering Department, and the Carnegie Mellon Neuroscience Institute. His lab has pioneered novel multimodal neural interfaces to understand the neural basis of brain function and dysfunction. Maysam is the recipient of a number of awards including the NSF CAREER Development Award, Spira Excellence in Teaching Award, HKN Teaching Award and the Dr. William D. and Nancy W. Strecker Chair Professorship.
