Mingyi Bai

Dr. Mingyi Bai is a Professor at Shandong University in Qingdao, China. He earned his PhD in Biology from the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences and conducted postdoctoral research at the Carnegie Institution for Science. Dr. Bai's laboratory primarily focuses on elucidating how the plant steroid hormone, brassinosteroid (BR), regulates plant carbon and nitrogen metabolism. His team has made significant contributions to our understanding of BR's roles in the nitrate signaling pathway as well as its crucial functions in promoting guard cell starch degradation and stomatal opening. These findings have garnered recognition both nationally and internationally, solidifying Dr. Bai's achievements in the field of plant biology. He continues to inspire and mentor future scientists, contributing to the advancements in plant research and its applications in agriculture and environmental sustainability.
