MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, UK
Biography

Following undergraduate and MSc degrees in biology and molecular biology at the University of Bucharest, Romania, I moved to the UK where I completed a PhD in neurobiology at University College London. After postdoctoral training in structural biology, in 2007 I established my research group, at the University of Oxford, focused on high-resolution structural analyses of neuronal surface receptors. In 2017 I moved to the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, where I now lead a research programme aiming to elucidate how the molecular architecture of neuronal synapses is linked with information acquisition and storage in the brain.
