Yesterday the VIB-KU Leuven BioImaging Core was inaugurated as a Nikon Center of excellence, which is great news for the scientific community, that has a big need for imaging equipment.

On 10-11 October 2019 the second edition of The Brain Mosaic: Cellular heterogeneity in the CNS took place More than 270 people from all over the world gathered at the University hall of KU Leuven for 2 full days of science.

VIB’s aim with the conference series is to showcase cutting edge research by leading scientists and to make the presentations and discussions accessible for all scientists. In this regard VIB conferences would like to introduce travel grants to international researchers for conferences from 2020 onward.

VIB offers 5 travel grants to international attendees, which will reimburse travel costs up to 400 Euros.

Emerging Applications of Microbes took place on 3-4 June 2019 in Leuven. Over 200 participants gathered in Leuven to take part in this first edition, initiated by Kevin Verstrepen, science director of the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology. The center combines leading basic research on micro-organisms with translational research and industrial valorization.
