Rochelle Tixeira

Rochelle Tixeira studied molecular biology at La Trobe University, Melbourne and obtained her PhD from the La Trobe Institute of Molecular Sciences, working on the role of apoptosis driven extracellular vesicles, namely apoptotic bodies, in clearance and tissue communication under the supervision of Professor Ivan Poon. She then continued her training as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Professor Kodi Ravichandran at Ghent University, Belgium. Here she is currently working on understanding membrane components, particularly the role of membrane lipid phosphatidylserine and its ‘interacting partners in diverse biological functions including cell clearance and fertilization.
