We would like to remind you about the final registration deadline for the International Meeting on Optical Biosensors, which is October 31st.

Type 2 inflammation rich in eosinophils, basophils and mast cells and orchestrated by Th2 lymphocytes has been mainly studied in the context of allergies and immune responses to helminths. Since the discovery of type 2 innate lymphoid cells there has been a strong interest in understanding how type 2 immunity is induced and regulated, for example by barrier epithelial cells.

On November 26-27, 2018 the second edition of the VIB conference 'Metabolism in Cancer and Stromal Cells' will take place at the Jubileumzaal in Leuven. The line-up includes top speakers such as Erika Pearce, Karen Vousden, Matthew Vander Heiden and Susan Kaech.

The 2nd edition of Structural Dynamics in Cellular Communication took place last week in Brussels. Several speakers presented cutting edge data and showcased where this exciting field is heading. The meeting coincided with the official opening of the new VIB-VUB facility for Bio Electron Cryogenic Microscopy in Brussels.

Are you doing research in the field of structural biology and have an exciting discovery in the field of macromolecular machines, in situ structural biology, structural engineering & drug discovery, protein function/dynamics? Then submit your abstract for the 2nd edition of Structural Dynamics in Cellular Communication (SDICC), which will be held on 20 and 21 September 2018 in Brussels.

Are you doing research in the field of Structural biology or Protein research? Then SDICC18 is the conference for you. The 2-day program is packed with 16 speakers, poster sessions, short talks from abstracts, a Meet the Expert session with Patrick Cramer, a conference dinner in La Manufacture and a guided tour through the city. If that wasn't enough the conference is preceded by a satellite meeting in honor of the opening of VIB's new CRYO-EM facility. The inaugural lecture for this occasion will be held by Nobel Laureate Richard Henderson.

From 1-4 July VIB was proud to host the third edition of CTLS. This Core Technologies for Life Sciences conference has brought together 300 people from academia and industry - of which more than 80% from abroad. They gathered in the beautiful and historical venue ‘Het Pand’ in the heart of Ghent.
